For Alumni and Clubs

Alumni Groups and Clubs! Join us at the San Diego Crew Classic to cheer on your favorite crew! Tent Row is the place to be during the regatta—you’ll have easy access to the course and can enjoy hospitality and camaraderie.
Tent Row Participants may bring their own food. Near Tent Row you’ll also find the food court, merchandise tents, the Trade Show, a beer garden, and a Jumbotron showing the races from start to finish. The on-site concessionaire can deliver simple or elaborate fare to meet the organizations’ needs.

Important Things to Know:
Collegiate Finals early on Sunday: The finals of the Collegiate Copley Cup (men) and Jessop/Whittier Cup (women) will be raced before 9:30 a.m. Be sure to tell your guests. Check back on this website for schedule with lane draws approximately two weeks in advance.
Alcohol: The City of San Diego has a ban on alcohol at city beaches and adjacent parks. We are permitted to have a beer garden, which is located along the shore directly in front of Tent Row.
IMPORTANT RESTRICTION: The selling of food and beverages to the public by those in Tent Row is NOT covered under our event permit. Any organizations wishing to do this must submit forms and secure permits from the City of San Diego and be included in our concession program.
Firm enforcement of city laws by the City of San Diego is anticipated. Organizations may sell tickets for admission to the groups’ party. Selling food to the general public on-site is not allowed. You may charge your members to attend but you may not take cash from the general public at the event for any items you may be offering.
City ordinance prohibits use of glass containers of any kind.
Tent Costs: The cost of a 20’ by 20’ tent for the whole weekend is $600. This is what it costs the Crew Classic – there is no profit. Included are 2 banquet tables, 20 chairs, white picket fence, and nearby live race coverage on the Jumbotron. Electricity will be available for a fee of $50.
Preferred Parking and Entrance: Parking near the venue gates is $10.00 per car per day and the entrance fee is $7 for one day; children under 13 are admitted free. The south (“green”) lot is closest to Tent Row. By order of the Police Department, no cars or trucks will be allowed in by the tents after 7 a.m., but with some notice, our carts are available to help with unloading. Free parking is available at Ski Beach, just south of Crown Point, with free shuttle transportation to and from the Regatta venue.
Clean-up: Each year we impress the San Diego Park & Rec Department with our clean site. Please be sure to leave your area clean, with all trash properly discarded. There will be a $50.00 clean-up charge for areas left untidy (determined at our discretion upon inspection by 5 PM Sunday).
Banners: Secure custody of school banners and other belongings is the responsibility of the group organizers. The San Diego Crew Classic cannot be held accountable for any losses. Your banner must remain within your area. Please do not hang it from adjacent fences. Remember that City rules prohibit amplifiers and balloons in the park – try banners instead!
Sponsors: You may be arranging for your tent and hospitality expenses to be paid for by sponsors, who may wish for you to display their banner or sign in your alumni area. Approval is required in advance. Please contact the San Diego Crew Classic Advancement Office at 619-225-0305.
Barbecues: If you are planning to bring your own barbecue, the unit must be a patio size barbecue no longer than six feet. No large barbecues or cookers which are towed behind vehicles will be permitted.
