Stewards Program
Founding Stewards - Charlotte and the late Paul Hartley at the 2008 Crew Classic
The San Diego Crew Classic Steward Program was founded in 1993, as part of the 20th Anniversary celebration of the regatta. The mission of the Steward Program is to support the San Diego Crew Classic as a world-class regatta, for the benefit of San Diego and the rowing community. Steward membership is by invitation, with the understanding that those enrolled will promote the sport of rowing and act as ambassadors for the San Diego Crew Classic. In return, Stewards receive complimentary parking, entrance passes, and priority seating at the Brunch by the Bay, as well as listing in certain publications and invitations to exclusive Steward social events during the year.
To become a Steward, a couple or a single person pays the sum of $650, which includes two tickets to the Brunch by the Bay. Once a Steward, a subscription fee of $100 per membership is due annually in January. Whether for a single person or married couple, the annual fee is $100.

To become a Sustaining Steward, a Steward couple or individual shall make a minimum donation of $300.
Founding Stewards are those who enrolled during the inaugural year of the Steward Program. Regardless of the current status of their subscription fees, their names shall remain on all lists and be designated with the Founding Steward asterisk. Inactive Founding Stewards will receive invitations to the Brunch, and any other functions for which there is a charge.
Inactive Steward status is designated if a Steward fails to pay the annual subscription fee for three consecutive years, and active Steward status shall be forfeited. The name shall be retained on the Steward mailing list, but will not be listed in our annual program or other publications. Inactive Steward status will not include invitations to receptions and parties for which no charge is requested. Inactive Stewards will receive invitations to the Brunch, and any other functions for which there is a charge. The Brunch by the Bay is open to the public, as well as to the Stewards, and tickets are available through the Brunch Chair or the San Diego Crew Classic office.
